Today was quite the day, filled with moments I could process through writing. I tried choosing the best one, unable to commit to any of them. They were all too heavy, and I was feeling quite light. When it came time to serve dinner, I grabbed a few avocados to see if they were ripe enough for a side. They were perfect. And I thought, now this is a moment from today worth a slice.
There’s a lot that can be quickly forgotten
with a surprisingly perfectly ripe avocado.
Moods can quickly shift.
Bothered can swing to unbothered.
A good avocado can change one’s perspective
from whatever to what if…
Possibilities that were tucked away now come through
Or perhaps I choose to see them.
So much tastes better
with an unexpectedly soft avocado.
Ideas take on new colors at the counter,
knife in hand, salt waiting,
and when they felt heavy during the day,
they can feel like chances in the evening.
So much can be swayed
by a good avocado.
Ahhh I love this so much. An ode to that perfectly ripe avocado. Buttery and sweet, the culinary opportunities that arise and the stress of the day held at bay for a few moments. 🥑💚

I love this post and how everything shifts with that “surprisingly perfect” ripe avocado. It’s a perfect mentor text and a timely reminder that the smallest thing can have a big ripple effect. You’ve inspired me to try to “be” the perfect avocado for someone today! I’m heading to school determined to be a pivot point of positivity for as many little people as I can! (and maybe a few big ones, too!) Thanks!

Love this:
“So much can be swayed

I do believe that noticing and expressing gratitude for small details helps us face tougher issues.
Also a good avocado is just so darn good!
